About Ingrid Weel

I was born on April Fools ’ Day in 1972 and am privileged to be both a British and Canadian citizen - although it does make me talk a bit funny!

I received my BA at First Class Honours in Media Production from the University of Northumbria at Newcastle in 1994. I specialized in Black & White Cinematography for this degree. I was also awarded the joint prize for Best Visuals in a short film (as cinematographer) by Director Mike Figgis, who judged the category. I shared this prize with Erland Erikkson who wrote and Directed "All The Kind People".

Since then I have worked in the British Film and Television Industry first as a clapper loader, then moved on to focus pulling which I still practice today. My stills photography has always complimented my work in the camera department, and vice versa.

I went professional with my phtography in early 2006, and since then I have earned the distinction of Associate from the Royal Photographic Society and I'm currently on my way to becoming a licentiate of the Master Photographers Association.

I live in the quiet town of Chertsey and my work is mainly based in the beautiful Surrey County. However my wedding and corporate work takes me across the country and indeed around the world - including weddings in Canada, Portugal, Barbados and Paris.

I can't imagine doing anything else, I love my job and all the people it brings me into contact with.
I hope you enjoy looking at my web site and my work, and I hope to hear from you!
